Mom’s Beach Essentials

A comfortable one piece suit.
A versatile beach cover up. This one not only has a pocket, but converts into a bag!
Easy slides. These ones are very chic, and affordable! if you want something more waterproof, these are also a great find.
A good pair of sunglasses. These are UV protected and polarized, but at under $15, you won’t be heartbroken if you lose them in the surf.
A sun hat. I love this one because it protects to the equivalent of SPF 50, and can be folded for easy packing.
A large beach bag, woven so that you won’t bring the beach home with you (or worse, into your car).
SPF. Look for a broad spectrum lotion that can stand up to sweat and water. My personal favorite is Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Lotion. It is also good to invest in an SPF for your lips, specially formulated for that delicate skin. If you are always reapplying to little ones, this neat gadget makes life so much easier, and the kids actually WANT to put their sunscreen on when you use it!
