Surviving a beach day with kiddos means being prepared! Here are the must-have items to have a successful day at the beach.
- Backpack Beach Chairs are key! I love the Tommy Bahama 5-position ones because they lie flat, and have a cooler on the back. Plus, they aren’t too heavy. For a less expensive option, check out this one.
- Make the kids carry their own chairs too. This one only weighs 4 pounds, but doesn’t recline fully. If you want one that will fully recline, this one is great, but is a bit heavier (6 lbs). The good news is both are large enough to grow with your child, so you will get several years use out of them.
- Bring some shade! If you don’t want to deal with the hassle of setting up a sun shelter, try a clip on sun shade for your beach chairs. A less expensive option is also available.
- A sandproof beach blanket is also key. I like this one because it folds up into it’s own carrying case. Just shake it off and go without bringing all the sand back to your car.
- This freezable cooler bag is a game changer. This bag goes directly into your freezer, and becomes its own ice pack! This not only gives you so much more room in the bag, but makes it much lighter too. It doesn’t take up too much room in your freezer either.
- An EZ Fold Wagon with canopy. This is the most multifunctional product you could ask for. The thick wheels are great in the sand. It makes transporting everything from trunk to beach in one trip a breeze. It also is great as a mid-day nap spot for little ones, and a bit of an escape from the sun if you have the canopy. At the end of the day, you can even have the kids hitch a ride in it to get back to the car. Solo parenting win. Also available in grey.
